Qantas is extending its pre-ordering service for in-flight meals, Select on Q-Eat, to all classes on international flights.
The service previously has been offered only to international business class customers.
Select on Q-Eat allows travelers to pre-order their in-flight meals from seven days to 12 hours before departure through the ‘Manage Your Booking’ section on Qantas’ website.
Pre-ordering allows for not only greater meal choice – including an additional dish as an online exclusive on select routes – but also, a greater chance of receiving the meal you’ve selected. (Have you ever been on an international flight when the most appetizing meal has quickly been snapped up by all the passengers who’ve been served before you – and your only choice is something no one else wants? Pre-ordering should eliminate this!)
Qantas has started to progressively roll-out the service for all international flights with Premium Economy. The service is now available to Premium Economy passengers on Qantas flights from Dallas and Los Angeles to Australia.
It is being extended to flights between London and Dubai, and Australia this month.
Select on Q-Eat will be offered in Qantas international economy class beginning in late 2013.
