Gone are the days of carrying hard copies of flight itineraries and e-tickets. Qantas now offers seamless integration with Google Now, an in-built personal assistant, in the latest version of its app for tablets and smartphones using the Android operating system. The airline recently also launched the Android version of its mobile app launched for iPhones in May.
The integration with Google Now pro-actively give users information about their trip without requiring any action on their part. Travelers will automatically receive flight details, directions to the airport with live traffic updates, reminders to leave for the airport and local weather details at their destination.
With the launch of the new Android version of its app complete with Google Now integration, Qantas offers mobile apps for all three major smartphone/tablet operating systems: iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
Android is the most popular smartphone/tablet OS in the world and is especially popular among low-cost devices.
