Designed to enhance the travel experience, Qantas has been organizing a series of pop-up dining events in its Qantas Club lounges throughout Australia.
The airline has partnered with some of Australia’s top food experts to offer a selection of tasty creations by the country’s best chefs and restaurateurs in its lounges. The meals at the pop-ups are paired with wines selected by the Qantas Wine Panel.
The first event was held in Sydney on September 12 in partnership with hospitality and entertainment group, Merivale. Guests in the Sydney lounge were offered an exclusive tasting of Bert’s Pies by Alex Woolley, head chef at the three-hatted est, restaurant.
More pop-up dining events are planned in Qantas’ lounges – sadly only in Australia – through December. The pop-ups feature signature creations by a number of Australian chefs (handpicked by Qantas’ consulting chef, Neil Perry) as well as other activities.
For those Qantas Club members fortunate to be flying from Melbourne on December 5, Qantas will feature amazing dishes from Neil Perry’s Italian Restaurant, Rosetta Ristorante, at the next scheduled event.
The Melbourne pop-up will feature creations with authentic Italian flavors including delicious arancini balls with matched Italian wine and Campari.
The event will take place on December 5 between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at the Qantas Club Melbourne. Rosetta Ristorante is Neil Perry’s first Italian restaurant, located in Southbank, Melbourne.
