Android version to follow for Red Roos smartphone helper
Qantas has released a new app for iPhone users, with the promise of an Android version to follow shortly. Qantas Airways builds on much of the groundwork established by the airline’s Frequent Flyer application while adding other features which are perhaps intended bring it into line with Virgin Australia’s similar product. Free to download and alongside the standard search-and-book options are check-in and live update features.
Synchronizing with Apple’s Passbook program, passengers can check in at the touch of a button and automatically have their boarding passes sent to their phone. Then, on the other side of security, the app will let them know when their flight is ready for boarding, eliminating the need to hover around an information screen or listen out for announcements.
On the booking front, Qantas has added enhanced monitoring features. Select your desired routes and price band so that once a sale or special offer becomes available the app will let you know.
