Business Class comfort will be available on select flights
QantasLink will up its level of services on routes between the Australian capital city, Canberra, and the state capitals of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne from January next year by revamping the interior of five of its Boeing 717 aircraft.
Announcing the improvements in a media release, executive manager John Gissing said: “QantasLink will introduce a full Business experience on these aircraft, including market-leading seats, premium food and drinks and exceptional onboard service.”
Both Business and Economy classes will be able to enjoy complimentary individual entertainment consoles, while those in economy class who are willing to pay a little extra will benefit from enhanced catering and hospitality provisions, among other features.
As the fight to secure passenger loyalty in the Australian domestic market continues, Qantas is arguably responding to Virgin Australia’s recent launch of a regional arm. Both airlines are in a stiff competition to earn and gain the loyalty of frequent business travelers, leading to increased amenities and services on popular flight routes.
