Air Tahiti Nui will increase flights between Los Angeles and Auckland via Papeete, Tahiti, the idyllic French Polynesian destination, to 3 times per week, from 2 per week at present, beginning December 10.
The airline will launch an additional year-round flight between Auckland and Papeete on Tuesdays, in addition to the existing Thursday and Sunday flights. This will bring the total weekly flights to Auckland from Tahiti to 5, including 2 code-share flights with Air New Zealand.
Vacationers planing a trip to New Zealand and Australia will be able to combine a few days’ stop-over in Tahiti, before or after their flights to Auckland. From there, they will be able to continue their travels on to Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, Australia with connecting flights.
Air Tahiti Nui’s new flights will use 296-seat Airbus A340 aircraft that have been re-configured into 2 classes of service – Business and Economy. Business class now features angled-lie-flat seats with a 60″ seat pitch for comfortable napping.
Economy class has been upgraded with more comfortable 18″ wide seats with a 32″ pitch on average.
