Virgin Australia took delivery of its 100th Boeing 737 aircraft with a celebratory flight for children from the Starlight Foundations and their families on August 5.

The Boeing 737 accounts for over half the airline’s fleet, and is used on routes across Virgin Australia’s domestic and international network.

Virgin Australia marked the induction of the new 737-800 by taking 100 children from the Starlight Children’s Foundation and their families on a flights out of Sydney.

The flight included cockpit tours, in-air bingo, sing-a-long songs with the crew and a special lunch service by the airline’s renowned gourmet head chef, Luke Mangan. The hit boy band, The Collective, also made a guest appearance with an in-air performance.

Virgin Australia is an official wish granting partner of the Starlight Foundation and has helped grant over 400 wishes to seriously ill children and their families through its partnership with Starlight in the last two years.
