Qantas will operate daily Boeing 747 flights to Brisbane from Los Angeles beginning December 2. The airline currently operates six flights per week on this route.
The non-stop flight time from Los Angeles to Brisbane, at just under 14 hours, is the shortest duration for flights from the continental US to Australia.
The increase in flights is part of a series of announced flight changes by the airline including the introduction of new aircraft and an increase in flight frequencies on many international routes.
Qantas will add one extra A380 return flight per week between Sydney and Hong Kong from November 4, taking weekly A380 flights to five per week. Sydney to Hong flights on the remaining two days will be operated using Boeing 747s.
Additionally, a new seasonal flight will be added on the Perth to Auckland route from December 6.
