Now there’s one more reason to choose flights from Brisbane for your vacation to Australia. Qantas opened a new $80 million catering center at the airport on October 16.
The facility will employ 300 people and produce over 7 million meals each year for Business and Economy passengers – over 20,000 meals a day for about 120 flights.
The new Qantas Catering Centre is equipped with robotic food-handling technology, specialized technology to track equipment throughout the center and an advanced under-floor waste processing system for better hygiene and less waste.
The facility will be Qantas’ flagship catering center – very good news for everyone flying from Brisbane. Meals served in-flight should be of very high quality with fresh ingredients and we’re hoping, much tastier than most airplane meals.
Leave your crackers and chips behind when you board a flight on Qantas from Brisbane – you’ll be treated to a freshly prepared meal on your flight.
