Air New Zealand plans to operate flights to Australia’s Sunshine Coast from Auckland during the June-October period for one more week than the recently concluded season.
In 2014, the airline will operate return flights between Auckland and the Sunshine Coast from June 27 to October 26. Air New Zealand will operate two return flights a week, increasing to three during two peak periods – July 8 to July 22 and September 23 to October 7.
Air New Zealand launched the seasonal Auckland-Sunshine Coast flights in 2012. It plans to offer up to 13,000 seats on the route in 2014.
The Sunshine Coast is a popular tourist destination in South East Queensland on the Pacific Ocean coastline. The region is known for its pristine beaches, freshwater rivers and lakes, golf courses populated with roaming kangaroos and five national parks.
With the connection between Auckland and the Sunshine Coast, visitors to this region will be able to combine a low-season exploration of New Zealand with a relaxing stay in tropical Australia without wasting time on connecting flights in either Brisbane or Sydney.
