Virgin Australia now offers an additional benefit to its passengers who are not members of Velocity, the airline’s frequent flier program — single-use entry passes to its domestic airport lounges in Australia.
If you’re flying on Virgin Australia, either after the long-haul flight from Los Angeles or on a flight within Australia, and have a lengthy wait before your connecting flight, you’ll be able to gain access to a comfortable lounge for snacks, an internet connection, relaxation and even a shower to freshen up.
Virgin Australia passengers can purchase the passes at the lounge’s reception area for AU$65.00 (about $57), payable only by credit-card. However the buyers of the passes will only be able to use the passes up to a maximum of two hours prior to flight departure.
Velocity members can also purchase single entry passes using frequent flyer points through the online reward store (but not at lounge reception).
The airline currently has airport lounges in nine Australian cities – Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Gold Coast, Mackay, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
Virgin Australia lounge amenities include a selection of premium wines and beers after 11 am, all-day barista coffee and snacks, a specially-designed buffet, free WiFi Internet access, showers and change rooms.
