On April 4, Royal Brunei Airlines, the flag carrier of Brunei (in Southeast Asia), launched Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to Melbourne by way of Brunei International Airport, Dubai and London’s Heathrow. While the airline may not be well-known in North America, it won the 2013 award as Best Airline Provider in Asia in the European Asia Awards.
Royal Brunei’s Dreamliner Business Class cabin features include Contour Seats that recline to a fully-flat bed. Each seat comes with a plush duvet; a large, comfy pillow; an individual 15.4 touchscreen LCD display with the Panasonic eX2 in-flight entertainment system; and in-seat power connectors.
Dreamliners For Your Flights To Melbourne
Royal Brunei is the third airline to fly the Dreamliner 787-8 to Melbourne. Travelers from North America can also connect to Air India’s Dreamliner flights to Melbourne in London and include a stop in New Delhi on the way.

Qatar Upgrades Aircraft On Melbourne Flights
Another airline flying to Melbourne, Gulf-based Qatar Airways, has upgraded its aircraft to Boeing 777-300s on its daily flights between Melbourne and the Qatari capital, Doha.
Qatar currently operates non-stop flights to Doha from New York, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The airline plans to begin flights to Doha from Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami airports in summer 2014.
In addition to Melbourne, Qatar operates daily flights from Doha to Perth, the capital of Western Australia.
Qatar Airways 777-300 Business Class features include fully-flat beds with 78 inch pitch, premium dining and over 1,000 in-flight entertainment content options.
The new aircraft will boost the capacity on the Doha to Melbourne route by 30 percent with the addition of 76 more seats.
And for an additional flight option on Qatar – the airline is launching an all Business Class flight between Doha and London’s Heathrow from May 15. The flights will use Airbus A319 and seat 40 Business Class passengers. This will be the airline’s 6th daily flight between Doha and London.
