Though United connections may use Airbus A319 or Boeing 737's, the trans-Pacific route will take place exclusively on an Air New Zealand Boeing 747-400 or 777-200. The 747 carries 46 Business Premier passengers, 39 in Pacific Premium Economy and a further 294 in Pacific Economy class, whilst the 777 has a ratio of 26, 36 and 242 in those same categories.

Air New Zealand's new Business Premier experience features a completely lie-flat bed, touch-screen entertainment, gourmet dining and exclusive local New Zealand wines. Pacific Premium Economy offers innovatively-angled 'Spaceseats' for increased legroom and intimacy, while Pacific Economy offers the option to book a three-seat Skycouch (unfortunately, only available on certain flights from LAX) as well as order your own snacks via the touchscreen seat-back console.

Layovers at LAX or Auckland allow Business Class passengers to take advantage of the airline's exclusive Koru Lounges, which offer refreshments, shower facilities and PC connectivity at least 2 hours before departure following security check-in.
